Relevant Notes
Once the Lonwork Network is configured and commissioned, the LNS driver will communicate with the LNS database and can update all the required network variables. It is not necessary to run the LonMaker Integration Tool software for execution of LNS driver. The LonMaker Integration Tool Version3.0.is required only to configure and commission the Lonwork Network.

The Driver Version supports the following types of Lonworks Network Variables:
1. Structured Variables (for example: SNVT_switch)
2. SNVT format variables (Standard Network Variable Types)
3. UNVT format variables (User Defined Variable Types)
4. SCPT (Standard Configuration Property Types) variables and UCPT (User Configuration Property Types) variables.

The LNS driver supports the Exception based processing feature for Analog and Digital I/Os to further improve the performance of the driver. To implement this feature for analog inputs, the Lonwork devices need to get configured with Dead band feature through Neuron C program. If the dead band feature is configured for analog devices then the exception based processing can be used for these devices.

This driver supports the following Distech point types and only apply when communicating to a Distech device.
1. Constants (Mode only)
2. Variable (Mode and Value)
3. Input (Mode and Value)
4. Output (Mode and Value)
5. Schedule State (Mode and Value)
6. Schedule On/Off Time
7. Holiday On/Off Time
8. Holiday Schedule
9. Device Time

History

Revision History
Reason for 7.15 release on 1/10/2003:
* Initial release of the Lonworks Network Interface Driver...

Reason for 7.17 release on 04/08/2003:
* Modified documentation to comply with GE standards.
* Updated the documentation replaced generic topics.
* Implemented security enhancements.
* Support for Distech Control devices....

Reason for 7.20 release on 08/15/2003:
* Addresses several issues and includes several enhancements.

NOTE: release Notes and Documentation contain important details of updated requirements and functionality ... for example, a newer version of the Echelon software is required. Please carefully review both for complete details.

Problems addressed:
* Update times slow.
* Values freezing at 0.
* Slow data refresh after writes.
* Remote Lightweight Client connection problems with multiple channels.

Reason for 7.20a release on 09/02/2003:
* Corrected issue with corrupt text at end of string when reading ASCII into Text Blocks/Fields.

Reason for 7.20b release on 10/23/2003:
* Corrected issue with question marks still appearing in data links after network failure and successful recovery. Typically occured when in Exception mode with bound updates and iFix database points configured for Exceptions.

Reason for 7.21 release on 02/24/2004:
* Reduced network traffic when Devices were disabled through use of "!Mode" command code.
* Enhancement to add support for UNVT variables ... UNVT_statistics, UNVT_error_status, UNVT_pfl_status, UNVT_op_status.
* Enhancement to add support for FIX32 and 2 hour demo mode operation.

Reason for 7.21a release on 03/18/2004:
* Network variable field data for UNVT_op_status NV Type does not update for "error" NV Field.
* "Error creating bstring for datablock datatype" message pops up when attempting to set ASCII data type for a datablock.

Reason for 7.21c Release on 05/10/2005:
* Correct enable/disable hangup issue.
* Support for read/write with Distech devices.
* Correct threading issue where the driver would lockup after a write failure.
* Corrected issue where a failure on a single device would make all other datablocks go to COMM state.

Reason for 7.21d Release on 02/21/2006:
* Corrected memory leak which manifested itself in SAC while performing outputs through AO/DO blocks.

Reason for 7.21e release on 06/29/2006:
* Corrected issues with timers when the operating system has been running non-stop for 49 days or more.

Note:  If your firewall blocks ZIPS and EXEs, simply right-click and select SAVE TARGET AS and change the extension to something like "XIP".  Once downloaded change the extension back to its original one.

All drivers produced by vendors other than GE ("3rd Party Drivers") are provided by GE "as is" and without warranty of any kind unless the vendor extends a pass-through warranty to the end user.  Support for 3rd Party Drivers is provided by the driver's vendor.
