Relevant Notes
The ISO transport layer for Ethernet communication is included with the SI5 Driver. SIMATIC NET is recommended for programming the S5 PLCs. TISOFT is recommended for programming the TI PLCs. This driver is OPC Data Access version 2.05 compliant. Running SI7 and SI5 Drivers Simultaneously on the Same Machine: To run the SI7 and SI5 drivers simultaneously on the same machine requires separate communication cards. Both drivers can communicate using standard NIC cards (SI7 using softnet). Another option is to configure the SI7 driver to use a proprietary Siemens CP card, such as the CP1613 or CP5611, while the SI5 driver communicates using a standard NIC card.
Revision History
Reason for 7.20 release on 6/02/2003 * New driver Reason for 7.20a release on 07/07/2003 * Enhanced documentation, troubleshooting tools, and error message output. Reason for 7.20c (includes 7.20b modifications) release on 12/16/2003: * Validated Server running under Windows Server 2003. * Validated Server running with Cimplicity PE v6.1. * Added TBC1 signal conditioning to be consistent with previous S5 drivers. Reason for 7.20d release on 9/14/2004: * Corrected XP/YP datablock reads for starting addresses other than zero.

Note: If your firewall blocks ZIPS and EXEs, simply right-click and select SAVE TARGET AS and change the extension to something like "XIP". Once downloaded change the extension back to its original one.
All drivers produced by vendors other than GE ("3rd Party Drivers") are provided by GE "as is" and without warranty of any kind unless the vendor extends a pass-through warranty to the end user. Support for 3rd Party Drivers is provided by the driver's vendor.
