What do I need a Username for?

Many aspects of the GE Intelligent Platforms Support Site contain information that is protected - in some cases the information is tied to your contract status and in others to the company you work for. To ensure we can provide the proper level of access and visibility we require that people have a username/password when accessing special areas or information or when registering your software.

I don't know if I already have a Username. How do I find out?

Going to any protected area of the website (for example, accessing download files) will display the following page. From this location, you can select Forgot your User ID or Forgot your Password. Alternatively, you can get to this page by navigating to http://eservice.ge-ip.com.

Where do I sign up for a Username and Password?

From the GE Intelligent Platforms Support site http://support.ge-ip.com, select the link entitled Account Maintenance along the right navigation area. Under that link you will see a selection to Create a User ID. Once selecting that, the system will walk you through the setup. Please have your CSN (Customer Service Number) ready and follow the instructions provided through the automated system carefully.  Click here to view an online demo on how create and register an account.

When creating a new Username, why do you prompt me for my email address?

CSN is a unique identifier for the organization you work for, your email address is the unique identifier for your personal contact information and it is ultimately what we use to ensure you have access to all of the areas of the website that you are privileged for. For this reason, it is important that there is only one email address on file for your contact information. Previously, this was not the case and, as a result, many users had multiple user names with the same email and, as a result, did not get the level of access they expected. To reconcile this, you may experience a one-time delay in processing your UserID if you previously registered and forgot your information.

Why is there a delay in the User Creation process?

If you are a new user to the system and have your CSN (Customer Service Number) when you sign up, you should experience no delay in access to the website. However, if you do not have your CSN or previously registered for access to the website and forgot your user information, you will experience a one-time delay in order to correctly reconcile your information.

What is a CSN and why do I need to know it?

The CSN, or Customer Service Number, is a unique identifier for your company. It is location specific and allows us to quickly and correctly reconcile the level of visibility and access you should have. During the creation of a username, the CSN will allow us to immediately associate you with the company that you represent. If a CSN is not provided, manual association will be needed given the site information you provide - this process will result in delaying access to the website. For this reason, having your CSN available before you register is extremely important.

Where would I find my CSN?

If you're a software customer, your CSN can be found on the GlobalCare certificate or the authorization card (if applicable) you received with your product. Additionally, if you are not the primary contact at your site, the CSN may have been communicated internally through that individual. If we have your current email address in our Support Call Center system, you can also utilize our CSN Lookup Tool to obtain your CSN.

What if I still don't know my CSN?

As part of the user account creation process, you will be asked specifically for your CSN. At the point you requested for this information, there is an option entitled "I do not know my Customer Service Number (CSN)" - select that and we will find that information for you. Please note that, on average, it will take us one business day to reconcile this information for you. You will subsequently be sent an email with your CSN information.
